I visit this Meijer 6 days a week and have been for 8 years now. As a business owner, I need a lot of fresh produce daily. I recently had an altercation with a worker there when she told me I wasn't allowed to buy more that one head of lettuce at a time.

There was not a limit # per customer anywhere to be found in the produce department. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I told her that I was in a store, and that these items were for sale, and that I should be able to have as many as I want as long as I pay for them.
She continued to mumble under her breath and walked towards the greeter and decided to talk a load of crap as I was standing in direct sight only 20 feet away. I walked that direction and asked why it was a problem for me to buy lettuce. I stated, "I've been coming here every morning for the past 8 years. I spend plenty of money here and if I want to buy something I should be able to." she replied, "You haven't been coming here every morning, I haven't ever seen you." I turned to the greeter who at this time completely agreed that I do shop there every morning..... (Bet she felt dumb)
So the manager comes into play. He decided to tell me that Meijer is not for wholesale... and I KNOW this and that is why I pay the full price. He continued to tell me he could put in an order for me.. (I own a small restaurant and I'm never sure exactly what I need until the night before.) He said they only receive appx 6 heads of lettuce a week (not a whole case) but I've been buying 8-10 heads of green leaf lettuce every week for 8 years. Something doesn't add up.
If all of the sudden there's a shortage on lettuce on the floor, then it sounds like a stocking issue to me.
The issue was never settled. I did in fact buy 5 heads of lettuce. The girl in the produce dept got a simple slap on the wrist... WHATEVER!!!
